In Pakistan’s Machar Colony, residents live a largely “stateless” existence, limiting their access to essential services and economic opportunities. For a small group of girls growing up there, the paths available to them can feel predetermined.

Then comes gymnastics.

Guided by coach Furqan Raja and human rights lawyer Tahera Hasan, the girls find purpose, excitement and new possibilities as they train to represent their community at the National Women’s Gymnastics Competition.
