MISAFF 2025 is proud to announce the inaugural film festival symposium supported by Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Media Fund and Ontario Creates on the 27th and 28th of November 2025. The symposium will focus on series and content creation. The symposium features panelists from the CBC, Telefilm Canada, CMF, Ontario Creates, the Canada Council for the Arts, ACTRA, DGC, and WGC.

The 2025 edition introduces a dynamic industry symposium, solidifying MISAFF’s role as a hub for creative discourse. The symposium features an array of essential panels and workshops, including:

  • A masterclass on creating hit television series from actress and series creator Zarqa Nawaz.

  • Insider panels on navigating Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Media Fund, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

  • A session with a CBC Comedy and Drama Development Executive on working with broadcasters.

  • Taurees (Grammy-winning Sound Engineer, Dune: Part Two, Interstellar, Bladerunner 2049, Dunkirk, No Time To Die, Top Gun: Maverick): On working with composers.

  • Workshops on showrunning with Anthony Q. Farrell and content creation with comedian Nadir Shah and influencer Taha Arshad.

  • Discussions with the DGC and ACTRA on working with unions, and on cinematography with the acclaimed Bob Gundu.

SACFF Member Rate:
Members of the South Asian Canadian Filmmakers Federation (SACFF) can also access the $100 rate from November 10-20.
