MISAFF SYMPOSIUM & INDUSTRY DAYS

MISAFF 2026 SYMPOSIUM returns for a second year supported by Telefilm Canada and the Canadian Media Fund on the 1st of October 2026 (9AM -5PM). The symposium will focus on unscripted series, feature documentary and content creation. The symposium features panelists from the CBC, Telefilm Canada, CMF, Ontario Creates, the Canada Council for the Arts, ACTRA, DGC, and WGC.

The 2026 edition introduces a dynamic industry symposium, solidifying MISAFF’s role as a hub for creative discourse. The symposium features an array of essential panels and workshops, including:

  • A masterclass on creating hit television series from Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Sami Khan.

  • Insider panels on navigating Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Media Fund, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

  • A session with a CBC Comedy and Drama Development Executive on working with broadcasters.

  • Canadian screen award-winning actorHamza Haq masterclass on working with directors.

  • Workshops on working with Quebec with Richard Duquette.

  • Discussions with the DGC and ACTRA on working with unions.

Discounted Symposium Pass Offer:
A Symposium Pass is available for the discounted rate of $100 (regularly $150) until September 15th for filmmakers who have films at the festival. To secure this rate, please send an e-transfer to misaffsymposium@proton.me with the subject line: SYMPOSIUM DISCOUNT PASS.

SACFF Member Rate:
Members of the South Asian Canadian Filmmakers Federation (SACFF) can also access the $100 rate until October 1st.
