It’s the morning of Eid in May 2021, and a UK Home Office immigration raid in Glasgow’s Pollokshields neighbourhood leads to the detention of two local residents. Word spreads quickly, and hundreds of neighbours, students, mosque members and other community members gather on Kenmure Street, determined to prevent the men from being deported.

Director Felipe Bustos Sierra reconstructs the eight-hour stand-off through interviews, archival material and footage captured by people on the ground as the protest unfolded. Produced by Ciara Barry and Bustos Sierra, with Emma Thompson among its executive producers, the film documents how an ordinary morning became an extraordinary act of collective resistance.

Everybody to Kenmure Street is a documentary about immigration, solidarity and the power of a community choosing to act together. The film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Award for Civil Resistance.
