SYNOPSIS: Amidst the ruins of a coconut plantation in rural Trinidad, Asha is drawn to Roger. Their taboo attraction grows, despite family disapproval, political turmoil, and mysterious hauntings from ancestral spirits.
About the Director:
Vashti Anderson is a Trinidadian-American filmmaker who holds an MFA in Film from New York University. MOKO JUMBIE, her first feature, world premiered at the LA film festival and was selected for the Filmmaker Immersion Program at the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival. Her narrative short film, Jeffrey’s Calypso, has won prizes and awards and national and international film festivals.
