MEET THE PATELS is about Ravi Patel, an almost-30-year-old Indian-American who enters a love triangle between the woman of his dreams ... and his parents. Filmed by Ravi's sister in what started as a family vacation video, this touching film reveals how love is a family affair.
Meet The Patels had its world premiere at HotDocs 2014 to sold-out screenings.
Filmmaker Ravi Patel will be in attendance all the way from Los Angeles.

Geeta’s first documentary, the thriller PROJECT KASHMIR, led to three Sundance fellowships, a Tribeca All Access fellowship through Tribeca Film Institute, and premiered at IDFA and PBS’s Independent Lens. Her second documentary, MEET THE PATELS, is a real-life romantic comedy Executive Produced by Academy Award Winner Geralyn Dreyfous. Additionally, Geeta is the writer/director of the upcoming narrative feature MOUSE, produced by Grant Hill (TREE OF LIFE/THE MATRIX).
Geeta began her career as Associate Screenwriter for Universal Pictures. Recently, she was a Visiting Artist in Belarus and Turkey as one of 29 filmmakers chosen for President Obama’s film delegation.
The PBS/Tribeca/Impact Documentary MEET THE PATELS is Ravi’s directorial debut. A real-life romantic comedy Executive Produced by Academy Award Winner Geralyn Dreyfous, Meet the Patels features Ravi as the main character in the film, received a Tribeca All Access fellowship through the Tribeca Film Institute, and won the TOP TEN Audience Favourite Award at Hot Docs.
Ravi is most recognized for his acting work on Scrubs, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Transformers, Powder Blue, and The New Normal. In 2013, he co-founded THIS BAR SAVES LIVES which gives a meal to a starving child for every granola bar they sell.
